After meeting the Japanese First Lady Akie Abe at the Origami competition at Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA), the school students became so impressed by her humility that they now want to visit Japan.

He had prepared a Komino Doll at the competition. Soni, a fifth standard student at Zydus School of Excellence, wants to learn more about Origami and teach others as well.

Another student, Ayush Saxena was elated as the First Lady gave him her autograph on one of her pictures brought by him. He also prepared a Japanese doll and offered to Mrs Abe. "The first lady liked the doll and took it. I felt very good. It was nice of her to talk to us," said Saxena, a fifth standard student of CU Shah Primary School at Gujarat Law Society.

Indo Japan Friendship Association had organised the competition at AMA, where Mrs Abe was greeted with a Índo-Japanese Song 'Kem Chho Konichawa' penned by Mukesh Patel, Ahmedabad-based noted tax expert and president of Gujarat chapter of the Association. Mrs Abe also cut a bullet train-shaped ice-cream cake. "The First Lady was so impressed that she spent about 15-20 minutes more than what was scheduled. She met each of the participants and presented 45 books for the library at the Indo Japan Centre here," said Patel.
