Chief minister Vijay Rupani described Gujarat as a land of opportunity, and said that Gujaratis were capable of competing with the world in business. Rupani was speaking at the inauguration of the three-day Rajput Business Expo 2018 in Ahmedabad, which aims to bring together businessmen and industrialists from Rajput community on a common platform.

He lauded the commuity pointing out that Rajput kings had surrendered their kingdoms for a united India after Independence.

The CM said that Rajputs are known for their valour, but the community's timely shift towards entrepreneurship would add new strength to the state's development and help in creating a new India. He also praised the stalls set up for women from Rajput community at the Expo. Thousands of participants from a number of states and several countries are taking part in the Expo orgnaised by Akhil Gujarat Rajput Yuva Sangh, at Riverfront. This is the third edition of the Expo after Surendranagar (2016) and New Delhi last year.

The Expo's chairman Kishoresinh Jhala said that the business meet would bring Rajputs together and contribute to the community's financial well-being.

Organisers said that more than 200 exhibitors from Gujarat and other states are taking part in the three-day Expo, which is expected to be attended by over 1.5 lakh visitors. It will feature a buyer-seller meet, education and employment fair, among others. The expo will culminate on February 18.
