One person was killed and three others sustained injuries after a speeding car rammed into two bikes from the front on Thursday afternoon near Karnavati Club on SG Highway. Cops are looking for the car driver who immediately fled the spot.
The four-wheeler was speeding on the service lane when the driver lost control over the wheel. The car swerved before the four-wheeler jumped a divider and rammed into two-wheelers. According to cops, one of the three bike-borne people who sustained injuries has died during treatment.
According to police, 25-year-old Harshil Shah, who was a resident of Naroda, succumbed to injuries. One of the other two injured has been identified as Dhruv Swami. PB Chauhan, an inspector of Anandnagar police station, said: "A complaint has been lodged and we are looking for the cab driver."
The car was having a Diu and Daman registration plate and was carrying rizla paper which is used to roll cigarettes, said a cop who had gone to the spot. We are looking for CCTV footages we have received from places close by.
Auto rickshaw hit by car, 2 injured
A complaint of hit and run was lodged with the Anandnagar police station on Thursday after a speeding car rammed into an auto rickshaw from the back, injuring the driver. The car driver fled immediately. The incident took place early morning Thursday near the Nehrunagar Circle in Ahmedabad. According to police, the injured driver, Ambalal Kalal, was crossing the junction when the four-wheeler hit him. The auto driver sustained head injuries after the vehicle toppled. Kalal was rushed to a hospital by the 108 emergency services.
A man died and three others sustained injuries after a truck rammed into another around 4.30am on Ahmedabad-Vadodara Express Highway near for Nadiad. According to police, the primary investigation revealed that both the trucks were Ahmedabad-bound. The mishap took place after one of the trucks swerved and rammed into the other.
Both the trucks were damaged, the local cops said. One of the truck cleaners died on the spot, while three others were rushed to the hospital.
Traffic congestion on the highway may have led to the accident, the Nadiad cops said. Nadiad police have lodged a case of the accident and investigating the case.
