In a much-awaited reshuffle, the state government shifted 67 IAS officers, mostly district collectors and district development officers, on Monday. This was the first major set of transfers since the Vijay Rupani government returned to power in December. Another reshuffle of secretaries and above is also expected in a day or two.
District collectors of all four major districts, viz. Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot, are among those transferred.
The General Administration Department said in a notification that Ahmedabad collector Avantika Singh Aulakh has been appointed as director of employment & training, Gandhinagar.
Rajkot collector Vikrant Pandey has been transferred to Ahmedabad, while Jungadh collector Rahul Gupta replaces Pandey in Rajkot.
Surat collector MS Patel has been appointed to the newly created post of commissioner of municipalities administration, Gandhinagar. Dhavalkumar Patel has been appointed as Surat collector. The notification said that Vadodara collector P Bharathi has been appointed as state project director of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan in place of Sandeep Kumar, while Aravalli collector Shalini Agarwal is the new Vadodara collector.
Ahmedabad DDO Sourabh Pardhi has also been transferred. Pardhi has been appointed as Junagadh collector. Rajkot DyMC Arun Mahesh Babu is the new Ahmedabad DDO.
The notification said that Kheda collector Kuldeep Arya has been appointed as Dy MC in AMC in place of Harshit Gosavi, who has been transferred as Aravalli DDO.
Sabarkantha collector Swaroop P has been appointed MD of Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Limited. Porbandar collector AV Kalaria has been appointed as director of information, Gandhinagar, in place of NB Upadhyay. SK Langa has been transferred from Panchmahals and appointed as Gandhinagar collector.
Gandhinagar municipal commissioner DN Modi has been appointed as Kheda DDO. Hitesh Koya has been shifted from Botad and appointed as Gandhinagar DDO. He replaces DP Desai who has been shifted to
Valsad. BK Pandya, additional commissioner of state tax, Ahmedabad, has been appointed as MD of Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited.
L Chuaungo gets nod to shift to AGMUT cadre
The Centre has given its nod to Gujarat-cadre IAS officer L Chuaungo to shift to the AGMUT cadre. Chuaungo is posted as principal secretary in the state General Administration Department. The central government said in a notification that Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal for inter cadre deputation of L Chuaungo from Gujarat cadre to AGMUT cadre (Mizoram) segment till February 2022, i.e. the date of his superannuation.
