Custodial death: Patidars to rally today

The Ahmedabad Patidar Samaj will take out a rally on Friday to protest the custodial death of 28-year-old Patidar youth Ketan Patel. The rally will culminate at the residence of state Home minister Pradeepsinh Jadeja where they will submit a memorandum demanding that the probe be handed over to CBI. They will then go on fast unto death. 

The rally which will begin at 11 am from behind Alok Flora hotel on Vastral Ring Road will cover a distance of 1.5 km. 

Ashish Patel, one of the leaders, said, “Approximately 500 people are expected to join the padyatra. If our demand is not met, we shall organise a dharna outside his house.” 

Do not politicise Ketan’s death: Hardik

BJP, Congress should not politicise the custodial death of a Patidar youth in Mehsana, said PAAS leader Hardik Patel on Thursday. “Deputy CM Nitin Patel is becoming victim to the groupism in BJP, yet he is not having any love for Patels,” he said.
