A minute-long presentation by three students of St Kabir, several books of Bapu, a mug with an RK Laxman toon and a small charkha are some of the mementos that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his family are likely to carry home from Gandhi Ashram.

Trudeau, his wife, and their three children are scheduled to visit the Ashram around 10.30 am on Monday. The family is on a 7-day visit to India.

"Since the Canadian PM will be visiting the Ashram with his children, we will be presenting books on Bapu that are specifically made for children. They include The Story of Gandhi, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi by Mrinalini Sarabhai and Bapu - Part I & II. We will also be presenting them with a mug with RK Laxman's cartoon on it," said Atul Pandya, director, Sabarmati Ashram.

First Lady Sophie Gregoire will be given Gandhi on Women by Pushpa Joshi, while Trudeau will carry home Bapu's autobiography, a CD of a documentary by Vithalbhai Jhaveri and a spinning wheel.

"Three students of St Kabir will make a presentation on their learning during the 'Learning Non-violence' course of CEE that they were part of. A one-minute video of children of a Toronto school who underwent a similar programme will also be played for the PM," said Pandya.

From Gandhi Ashram, the Trudeaus will proceed to the Akshardham Temple in Gandhinagar. Following a brief break at Hotel Hyatt, Trudeau will visit the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad where he will address the students.

The Canadian PM is also expected to meet Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and senior state officials, including the chief secretary, in Gandhinagar at around 4.45 pm.

Trudeau on Sunday toured the Taj Mahal with his wife and children as he began a week-long visit to promote trade and investment with India. This is Trudeau's first visit to India since taking office in 2015.
