A day after actor Sri Reddy's semi-nude protest in front of the Movie Artists Association (MAA) office in Jubilee Hills to highlight the rampant exploitation of Telugu girls in Tollywood, the association has retaliated by rejecting her application for membership.

Not only that, the association has warned all its 900 members against acting with Sri, lest they lose their membership.

Briefing the decisions of the emergency executive meeting here on Sunday, MAA president Sivaji Raja and senior actor Naresh termed Saturday's incident unfortunate.

"This premises has witnessed several events down the years, but the semi-nude show denigrated the sanctity of the MAA office. We think that Sri Reddy is frustrated," they said.

Naresh requested Sri to bring her grievances to the notice of the office bearers for redressal.

Reacting to the decision of the association, Sri said, "I have not gone semi-nude for publicity as MAA is claiming. I don't need cheap publicity as I have 60 lakh followers on social media. Are they (the office bearers) ashamed of exposing north Indian actresses," Sri Reddy asked.

While actors Hema and Srikanth expressed shock over Sri's behaviour and blamed her for being brash, filmmaker Ramgopal Verma has supported her brave and decisive move to expose the casting couch culture.

"Sri Reddy has become a national celebrity. People in Mumbai who don't even know Pawan Kalyan is talking about Sri Reddy," he tweeted.

Meanwhile, Sri is releasing information of actors who have been seeking sexual favours from her for a chance in movies and TV shows have leaked her chats with Indian Idol fame Sri Ram and TV artist Viva Sriharsha through her "Sri Leaks" page.
