Deputy Commissioner K B Sivakumar has submitted a report to the Election Commission of India (ECI), following a complaint that BJP president Amit Shah violated the model code of conduct during his recent visit to the city.
He had visited the house of Raju, a BJP worker, who was murdered in 2016 by suspected PFI activists in Mysuru. After Shah's visit to their house, Raju's sister-in-law had told private television channels that the BJP leaders gave them a compensation of Rs 5 lakh.
On Monday, the Congress leaders had filed a complaint against Shah with the ECI in New Delhi. The BJP has, however, denied the charge.
