State-level BJP OBC convention at Kaginale on April 3: Eshwarappa

The BJP OBC Morcha will organise a state-level Other Backward Castes (OBC) convention at Kaginele, the birthplace of saint poetKanaka Dasa, in Haveri district on April 3, said BJP leader in Legislative Council K S Eshwarappa.

Addressing a media conference at the BJP office here, on Friday, Eshwarappa said that BJP national president Amit Shah would inaugurate the convention and BJP state president Yeddyurappa will preside.

People of backward classes from all the Assembly constituencies in the state will participate in the convention. "As many as 3 lakh to 5 lakh people are expected to participate in the convention."
Eshwarappa said.

Two teams; one led by him and the other by Telangana BJP president K Lakshman, are touring the state to make the convention a success, Eshwarappa said.

He said he had held a meeting of the party leaders of Ballari, Raichur and Koppal in Karatagi (Koppal district) on Thursday.

"Today, I am holding a meeting of leaders of three districts-Bidar, Kalaburagi and Yadgir at Bidar," he added.

Raghunath Malkapure, Subash Biradar, Sanganna Ijeri and others were present.
