Telangana youth among three militants shot dead in Kashmir

Mohammad Taufeeq a native of Manuguru of Kothagudem district of Telangana was one among three militants killed in a gun battle with security forces in Hakkora of Anantnag in Kashmir on the intervening night of Monday.

Telangana police confirming the identity of Taufeeq in a statement on Wednesday said: "It is learnt that Mohammad Taufeeq (26) native of Manuguru died in an encounter with the security forces on the intervening night of  March 11 and 12 in Hakkora of Anantnag district along with two other Kashmiri militants. He was radicalized into the Islamic State ideology through social media and went to Kashmir to participate in terrorist activities of ISIS. He was not wanted in any of the criminal cases in Telangana state. Further details are being verified'.

Brainwashed by the Jihadis through social media, the young man joined the Kashmir based Terror outfit "Ansar Ghazwatul Hind" (AGH) believed to be an offshoot of ISIS. Taufeeq's father's name is Md Razaak. He has two daughters and a son. Taufeeq came to Hyderabad in 2016 to study civil engineering and was later searching for a job but his family lost touch as soon as he left his hometown.

 While Taufeeq has no criminal record his father Razzaq was once booked in a theft case. He was suspended from his job for a while because of the case. Police are also interrogating Taufeeq's family members. Fazli and Owais, the other two slain militants also have left their B.Tech courses midway.
