Conference on health communication

School of Communication, a constituent institution of Manipal Academy of Higher Education in collaboration with Team 3D, an NGO, as its health partner, is organising a two-day international conference on health communication: raising awareness and bridging gaps in the areas of women, media and sports on March 16 and 17.

Despite the technological revolution, the status of health has not improved much in India. This conference which is interdisciplinary in nature intends to bring professionals from various disciplines like media, health, technology and various NGO's who are concerned about health issues, particularly related to women under one platform. The main focus of the conference is to bring in some solution for improving the health status of fellow human beings.

Dr Srinivas R Melkote, professor and author, Bowling Green State University, Ohio, USA will deliver the keynote address. K N Shanth Kumar, editor, Prajavani and former chairman of PTI, Dr Vinod Bhat, vice chancellor, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Dr Padma Rani, director, School of Communication will inaugurate the two-day conference.

Nearly 20 research scholars working in the area of health comprising of lead media professionals like Dr Daya Thussu, Dr Kiran Prasad, Dr Binod Agrawal, Dr A S Balasubramanya, Dr Kiran Acharya, Dr Murlidhar V Pai and many more renowned persons will address the participants.
