All-female crew to run train today

The Bengaluru division of the South Western Railway (SWR) will run an all-women crew train from Bengaluru to Danapur (Patna) on Thursday.

The women crew on Sanghamitra Express includes an assistant loco pilot, a trainee guard, three security personnel and six ticket checkers, who will work from the Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna, Bengaluru, to Chennai Central stations.

The railways has also decided to make the Banaswadi station an all-women staff station.

From the station master to booking and reservation clerks, women employees will oversee the work.
