One killed as cab rams bike

A 23-year-old garment factory worker died and his colleague was injured when a cab struck their motorcycle in Peenya on Monday night.

Chethan, of Hegganahalli, was riding home with Dileep (25) on pillion when the accident occurred around 10.30 pm. As Chethan slowed down at the NTTF junction, the rashly driven cab rear-ended the motorcycle. Chethan and Dileep as well as the cab driver, Vasanth, sustained multiple injuries.

Passersby rushed them to a hospital where Chethan died later. The Peenya traffic police have booked Vasanth for causing accidental death due to negligence and seized the vehicles.
