JOIN USSP Annamalai K said that 'Y' category security has been provided to MLA C T Ravi following the directions of the intelligence head. Earlier, the MLA was provided with 'X' category security which has now been upgraded to 'Y' category.
Speaking to reporters on the threat letter received by the MLA recently, he said, "the letter was posted from Bengaluru. The police team had visited a minority educational institute at Ramnagara. There are two opposing groups at the institute. The letter has been sent in the name of one of the groups. We are verifying details of few people."
Police have already arrested two people in connection with the abuse and assault on Dalits at a hotel in Aldoor. The arrested are Prathik and Chethan. Another accused Tudukooru Manju has surrendered to the court.
"The court has released Tudukooru Manju on bail. There are four cases against him. Action will be initiated against him."
