Vidwath was brutally assaulted by Congress MLA N A Haris's son Mohammed Haris Nalapad at Farzi Cafe in Bengaluru on February 17. He has been in the ICU of Mallya Hospital since then.

Vidwath's elder brother Sathwik said they had to shelve the plan to fly him to Singapore considering his fragile health condition.

"There is no improvement in his condition. Doctors treating him here advised against travelling at this juncture," Satwik said. He added that his family is considering bringing doctors from Singapore.

Vidwath's father J Loganathan, too, said that they are planning to get doctors from outside to treat his son.

Doctors at Mallya hospital said, "His lungs are in good condition but he has difficulty in breathing due to nasal bone fracture. He is responding well to the treatment. He will be in the hospital for at least three weeks."

Commodore Indru Wadhwani, CEO of Mallya Hospital, said that Vidwath is gradually improving but he is still under observation.

Vidwath has a facial contusion, fractures on  nasal bones and cheekbones.

He has also sustained fractures on his ribs at lateral angles - right 4th to 9th and left 4th to 8th.

Haris and his wife went to pay a visit to Vidwath at Mallya Hospital late on Thursday evening. But Vidwath's family denied them entry.

A close friend of Loganathan said that Vidwath's father did not entertain any request from Haris to meet his son. Haris also tried to defuse the situation but his attempt failed.
