UP IAS officer threatens to 'slit' throat of subordinate

A senior Uttar Pradesh IAS officer was caught threatening to ''slit'' the throat of his sub-ordinate  on camera in state's Saharanpur district.

The IAS officer, Pramod Kumar Pandey, the district magistrate of Saharanpur was heard telling an Executive Officer (EO) of the Behat town panchayat Rajiv Kumar that he would ''slit'' his (Kumar) throat if the latter did not complete the work.

''Nahin karoge to tumhara gala kaat denge'' (I will slit your throat if you don't do it), the DM is heard saying in the video that has gone viral on the social networking sites.

According to the sources the DM had been on a visit to Behat Nagar Panchayat where he inspected the works by the panchayat.

Pandey, however, denied having made the remarks and alleged that the video was ''fake''.

Barely a few days back union minister Maneka Gandhi, was caught publicly ''abusing'' a senior state government official, who was accused of indulging in corrupt deeds by the people, on camera.

''Kya izzat hai tumhari...admi izzat par jeeta hai.....tum mote ho rahe ho...logon ka khate ho,'' (what prestige do you have? People live for prestige. You have put on fat. You eat the share of public), Maneka was heard telling the official, who was a supply inspector. The people had accused the supply inspector of taking bribe for making ration cards.
