A video of JD(S) state president and former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy trying to 'assault' former Malavalli MLA K Annadani has gone viral on the social media.

It is learnt, the video, shot on a mobile phone, dates back to January 7, when Kumaraparva rallies were held in Malavalli taluk. By the time the rally at Halgur concluded and the Kumaraswamy's caravan arrived in Kirugavalu, it was 10.30 pm. So, Kumaraswamy just held a road show and delivered a speech from his vehicle itself. He was getting ready to leave for Mysuru for night stay, when the party workers urged him to inaugurate the new party office in the town.

In the video, Kumaraswamy was seen convincing the workers that it was late. Annadani also stressed that Kumaraswamy leaves for Mysuru after inaugurating the office. Irked by the pestering, Kumaraswamy is believed to have raised his hand to slap Annadani.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, Annadani said, Kumaraswamy had not offended him in any way.

"While he was alighting his vehicle, the party workers had surrounded him and there was some confusion. Then he said, he will come and inaugurate the office. Due to the behaviour of the workers, it looks like he is raising his hands against me while trying to balance himself, in the video. There is no ill-feeling between us. I am participating in Kumaraparva with him even now," said the ex-MLA.
