BE student suicide: videos of verbal altercation go viral

Two days after a civil engineering student committed suicide, a video footage showing verbal altercation between her and a few friends on college premises went viral on social media.

After a few television channels broadcasted the footage, the police confirmed that it was not a case of ragging.

They have, however, summoned the victim's - Meghana - friends and the HoD of Civil Engineering, Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering, for questioning.

Meanwhile, Meghana's father said there are several videos which the investigating officials are looking into to ascertain the reason behind his daughter taking such a step.

The victim's sister said that Meghana had complained about mental harassment by her classmates to her HoD but no action was initiated against them.

The police have sent the videos to Forensic Science Lab for further examination.
