Student from Andhra Pradesh found dead on Miami beach

A student who recently completed his graduate studies from he Atlantis University of Florida, USA, was found dead under suspicious conditions on Miami beach on Wednesday.

Bommala Chaitanya Kumar (25), a native of Machilipatnam in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, told his friends that he was going for stroll on the beach, but never returned. Later they came to know about his death and informed his parents in India.

According to B Rammohan, who works in Machilipatnam Municipality, Chaitanya did BTech (ECE) from Gudlavalleru College of Engineering near Machilipatnam. He then completed MS (Electronics and Communication Engineering) from the Atlantis University and was looking for employment.

"He was planning to return home after securing a job there. We were all looking forward to receiving him," he told media.

He said that Chaitanya came home during Christmas holidays in 2016 and returned in March, 2017. However, he had become incommunicado with his childhood friends during last week.

His parents have no clue on how the death occurred.

Krishna district officials said there is no official communication from Florida police so far.   They said efforts were on to bring his body home.
