JOIN USThe white-topping work on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) in front of Manyata tech park that will commence on 25 January, has left the tech park staff worried.
The thought of traffic jams here after the commencement of the work is giving a nightmare to already stressed out employees.
The residents of the residential complex inside the park have closed the park's back exit due to which it takes more than an hour to get out of the business park, causing employees a lot of inconvenience.
Now, they fear that the white-topping work would add to their traffic woes.
Recently, more than 5,000 employees submitted a petition letter to the Embassy service, Traffic Police, BBMP and the home minister bringing to their attention, the problems caused during exit from the park and the traffic issues with suggestions.
"But till now, we haven't got a favourable response," said Krishna Ramalingam, an employee with Manyata tech park.
"There are only two fully functional gates for entry/exit for more than one lakh employees. The entry and exit at Manyata are taking considerable time, around 60,000 man-hours is wasted daily. It has become from bad to worse in the evening after traffic police closed the right turn from Gate 2 and the Manyata residents blocked gate 5 exits," he added.
Meanwhile, the Embassy Service has issued a circular to all companies in the park regarding the measures taken to ensure smooth traffic flow.
"The white-topping work is said to be carried out on the ORR and it is expected that the traffic will be diverted to the adjoining service roads. The Embassy Manyata Business Park has taken measures to ensure the free flow of traffic during this period," stated the circular issued by Pradeep Lala, CEO, Embassy Services Pvt Ltd.
"We will increase the number of traffic wardens from Veerannapalya to Nagawara Junction and have requested the traffic police to increase deployment during this period from Hebbal to Hennur to ensure free traffic flow. We will hold regular meetings with the traffic police department to discuss and mitigate traffic patterns and any issues and concerns during this period to ease out traffic on the outer ring roads," he added.
