The members of Mysuru Rakshana Vedike (MRV) have alleged that Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) has illegally sanctioned land for the construction of a community hall in memory of former minister Azeez Sait, father of Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Tanveer Sait.

Addressing a press meet here on Friday, advocate M A Mohan, also legal advisor for MRV said that MUDA has allotted the land in Devanur Layout.

Tanveer Sait had applied for two acres of land in 2013 for the construction the hall. Now, MUDA, violating the norms, has sanctioned sites at the layout. As per the rules, only civic amenity (CA) sites can be allotted for the hall, but MUDA allotted residential sites for the project, he said. As many as 36 residential sites have been allotted for the hall, he alleged.

MRV president Prem Kumar alleged that 36 sites that were allotted for the people to construct houses, had been withdrawn by the MUDA
and re-allotted for the hall, which is a violation of law. He also also warned of approaching the court against the MUDA.
