CM to attend sadhana samavesha on Jan 9

Arrangements have been made for the sadhana samavesha which will be attended by the Chief Minister at General Thimmayya stadium in Madikeri on January 9.

Briefing reporters, Rajiv Gandhi Panchayat Raj Sanghatane district convener Tennira Maina said that the Chief Minister will inaugurate various development works on the occasion. About 30,000 people are likely to take part in the convention.

Under podi-free village land, lands have been surveyed in 93 villages in Madikeri taluk, 69 villages in Virajpet and 143 villages in Somwarpet taluk and land-related issues have been sorted out. The drive had been taken up to convert over 58 lakh cases of Records of Rights, Tenancy and Crops (RTC) having multiple ownership into single ownership. The drive will help people in getting their RTC set right. Under a 21 point programme, works on the development of farmers land, "Namma Halli, Namma Neeru," "Namma Hola Namma Daari" have been initiated.

There are 84,306 BPL families in Kodagu district. A total of 3 lakh people have been benefited from Anna Bhagya scheme. About 23,273 quintal rice is being supplied to the district. As many as 40,606 students have benefited from Ksheerabhagya scheme, he said.
