Aadhaar adalat will be held in Udupi till Dec 30: DC

Udupi Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis has appealed to those who have not availed Aadhaar to register for the same at an Aadhaar adalat. The mistakes in the Aadhaar can also be rectified at the Adalat, she said.

She was speaking at the Aadhaar Adalat organised by the district administration and e-governance in Udupi on Tuesday. The Adalat will be held till December 30. Through four counters, the public can rectify mistakes and register for Aadhaar.

The DC also said that draft electoral rolls have already been made public. Voters should ensure that their names are in the list. If the names are missing, then they can submit an application by December 29. All those who have attained 18 years on January 1, 2018, can register for voters list. They will be identified as 'shathamanada mathadara' and will be felicitated during Voters' Day celebrations on January 25, she added.

Social security wing Assistant Director Nagaraj said that pensioners should mandatorily link their Aadhaar with bank accounts. At present, a few get pension via money order. In future, the pension will be paid only through bank accounts.

Each counter in the adalat can register 35 persons for Aadhaar in a day. The citizens can also register for Aadhaar at Atal Janasnehi Kendra in the taluk office. The mistakes in Aadhaar can also be rectified at 34 post offices and 14 bank branches in Udupi district, he added.

The public can register at Aadhaar Adalat from 10 am to 6 pm.
