6 foreigners held for overstay

Police have arrested six foreigners for overstaying in the city and booked them under the Registration of Foreigners Act, 1939.

They have been identified as Abdiwadud Mohamed Abdi of Somalia, Justus Okuku Okumu of Kenya, Evance Damasi Mlay and Atupele Friday Mwakyusa of Tanzania, Ivan Salomao Simbine of Mozambique and Wilhelm Shalongo Shapange of Namibia.

According to the police, all the arrested had obtained student visas and were residing illegally even after the expiry of their visa. The cases have been registered at Narasimharaja, Vijaynagara and Metagalli police stations.

City Police Commissioner Dr A Subramanyeshwar Rao urged owners of   accommodation facilities to submit details of foreigners to the police by filling a C form. The owners can also submit the details online by visiting: Indianfrro.gov.in/fro/formC
