Claiming threat to her life, Mallamma Yogeshgouda Goudar, the wife of the slain BJP zilla panchayat member Yogeshgouda Goudar from Dharwad, on Saturday lodged a complaint with the Karnataka State Commission for Women, against her family members and local  leaders.

Charging that the BJP was playing politics over her husband's death, Mallamma has accused that she was harassed by her brother-in-law Gurunath Goudar and BJP workers Amrut Desai and Basavaraj Koravar.

Stating that the trio had tried to grab her husband's property, she has also claimed that the three were monitoring her day to day movements and were imposing restrictions on her. She has stated that her children's lives was at risk, as the trio had warned her of dire consequences.

It is rumoured that Mallamma is joining the Congress, which has irked the BJP leaders, who have linked the name of Mines and Geology Minister Vinay Kulkarni's name to Goudar's murder.

The BJP, which has demanded Kulkarni's resignation, is apprehensive that Mallamma's induction into the Congress, would hurt the party's prospects.
