145 cases cleared in Pension Adalat

Out 152 cases admitted in the 31st Pension Adalat organised by the South Western Railway (SWR) Hubballi division, 145 cases were cleared.

At the Pension Adalat held at Railway Officers' Club at Keshwapur here on Friday, railway pensioners from different parts in Hubballi division, representatives of All-India Retired Railwaymen's Federation, RPF Welfare Association, and others participated. Cases related to secondary family pension, fixed medical allowance, and other issues were heard in the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, SWR Senior Divisional Personnel Officer Shuja Mahamood noted that there has been an increase in the number of cases registered each year at the Pension Adalat, due to the wide publicity and efficient performance of such programmes.

Revision of pension in 6,000 cases has been done recently. Disbursal of pension from the month of retirement to retired employees having SBI account has been ensured, he added.

During the Pension Adalat, retired employees were asked to mention correct address and also communicate changes in address, to the administration so as to ensure prompt delivery of the Pension Payment Order (PPO). The members of retired railwaymen's federation explained various formalities to be complied by the retired employees to ensure correct pension disbursement.

SWR Divisional Personnel Officer Prasad Ichangimath, officers and staff from personnel and accounts departments of the SWR, SBI officials, and others were present.
