Naidus continue with tradition, declare family assests for 2017

Continuing the family tradition of declaring assets every year, Nara Lokesh, son of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, declared the family assets in Amaravati on Friday.

Naidu had commenced the practice to herald his clean image in politics since 2011, three years ahead of the 2014 Assembly elections, which according to him forced the then prime minister Manmohan Singh and his council of ministers to declare their assets.

Lokesh, a graduate of Carnegie Mellon who has worked in the World Bank, has taken over the affairs of the Telugu Desam Party and is also the IT minister of the state.

Lokesh said his father owns assets worth Rs 2.53 crore and has liabilities of around Rs 3.58 crore.

Lokesh has assets worth Rs 15.2 crore, his wife Brahmani has Rs 15 crore worth assets and their three-year-old son Devansh has assets worth Rs 11.54 crore.

Naidu's wife Bhuvaneswari has assets worth Rs 24.42 crore.

But, as per the affidavit filed before the returning officer of the Legislative Council elections at Amaravati, Lokesh is worth Rs 330 crore.

He has Rs 273.84 crore worth shares in the family-run Heritage Foods, fixed assets worth Rs 18 crore and ancestral property worth Rs 38.52 crore. His declared liabilities are around Rs 6.35 crore.
