Last Updated 27 November 2017, 06:54 IST
KPCC president Dr G Parameshwara challenged BJP party leaders to prove the allegations of corruption that they have made against the Siddararamaiah-led Congress government in a court of law.

Speaking after inaugurating the Congress party convention here in the city, he said the if the allegations are proven in a court the party leaders will be ready to g to jail. He said that there is no use in making allegations each day.

The answer to BJP's allegations will be given by the voters in the state. He said the Congress party had the satisfaction of having fulfilled the promises made by the leaders in the last election in 2013 and also the confidence that no mistakes had been committed. "We will go back to the people and win the upcoming 2018 election as well," he added.

Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister T B Jayachandra spoke and said, "BJP's Parivarthana yatra got punctured on the first day itself. Now the party is trying to resolve internal differences. The yatra has not indicated any positive developmental changes. Instead, it has become an exercise for BJP leaders to criticise Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Energy Minister D K Shivakumar and KPCC President Dr G Parameshwara."

Energy Minister D K Shiva Kumar spoke and said, that his brother and MP D K Suresh had brought all the problems of the taluk to his attention no matter which part of the taluk where the problem is.

"Now that the MLA's tenure is getting over, Congress leaders will come to power. It is important to come to power in the state in order to come to power at the centre. Let there be no confusion about the candidate. The high command will take all things into consideration and choose the right candidate. Let there be a constant effort to do good for the party. It is the party before the individual, he added.

"BJP State President (Yeddyurappa) will make all kinds of promises before the elections. There is no way that BJP comes to power in the State," Shiva Kumar added.

MP D K Suresh spoke and said that at the taluk level, BJP and JD(S) are two faces of the same coin. "They are like members of the same family fighting to get elected. Congress workers need to careful of both," he added.

Tumakuru MP S P Muddahaume Gowda, KPCC Vice president Ramakrishna, members Venugopal, Gopinath, Manjula Naidu, Kamalamma, ZP Member Bhagyamma and others were present on the occasion.
