Man beaten up by mob of Uber drivers in Bengaluru for demanding a seatbelt

Last Updated 17 November 2017, 06:24 IST

When Dave Banerjee hailed an Uber at the Bengaluru airport, he probably did not think the driver would take such offence to the request of a seatbelt to the end of beating him up with a mob of his fellow drivers.

But such is the claim of the man, who went to Twitter to share his anguish and Uber's utter disregard of his predicament, with a handful of photos to prove his story.

And when he went about using the emergency assistance, the message shown to him was sure to rile him up even further (just look at the green bar on the top):

Naturally, when a post of this nature goes viral, the company had to respond, but the response could not have been any more vague than a "we'll get in touch"

Of course, that did not satisfy Dave in the least. Let's be honest, though, if someone was beaten up by a mob of drivers, chances are they won't be satisfied with a "we'll get in touch". In some countries, such responses would be grounds to sue.

And what sort of company refuses to disclose what actions are being taken against erring drivers?
