JOIN USFamilies of slain Indian soldiers and Kashmiris who have lost their loved ones in the conflict-ridden valley came together to share their sorrows on a single platform.
At an event, 'Paigam-e-Mohabbat' organised by the Art of Living here on Friday, surrendered militants faced widows of martyred soldiers. Farooq Ahmed, a surrendered militant who served the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front said that till date no one found a solution to the problems of the people from the valley. He said events like these heal the wounds of the families and the foundation should ensure to involve Hurriyat leaders too to bring peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
Priya Sankalp, wife of slain soldier Lt Col Sankalp Kumar who died fighting the militants in the valley said that she was unaware of the presence of Kashmiris at the event. "When I saw the faces of Kashmiris, the people who were the reason for my husband's death, there was an emotional outburst. But I understood that they too have lost their loved ones," she added.
Speaking on the occasion, Sri Sri Ravishankar said that there are kids who are picking up guns and it is our duty to tell them to pick flowers and drop the guns. Answering a question about his increased meddling with the Kashmir issue, he said that he will welcome those who have a problem and that he will not stop intervening in the issue.
