Omega Healthcare mulls UAE expansion

Bengaluru-headquartered Omega Healthcare, which is an offshore provider of healthcare outsourcing services, plans to explore the UAE market soon.

The company, founded in 2004 by Gopi Natarajan and Anurag Mehta, serves over 100 US healthcare companies.

"The industry itself is growing very well and there are lot of new opportunities. Hospitals are understanding more about offshore. We are witnessing a CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) of 35%. Also, we are looking at exploring the Middle East market, which is at a very nascent stage,"  said Omega Healthcare Co-Founder and CEO Gopi Natarajan.

With over 12,500 employees, the company, which is a offshore service provider to revenue cycle management (RCM), billing services as well as healthcare IT vendors, is also in the process of coming up with its own technology. "The technology will help coders to do better," he said.

The company's core services are medical coding and billing Revenue Cycle Management, which includes patient registration and charge posting, eligibility verification, patient calling, among others.

Apart from Bengaluru, Omega Healthcare has its presence in Trichy, Chennai, Bhimavaram, Hyderabad in India, and Manila and Cebu in the Philippines.

"We have our large operation in Trichy and there alone over 4,100 employees are working," Natarajan said.

The company recently acquired Whitespace Health, a healthcare analytics company, and it looks to expand and grow its business.
