Completion ceremony of Jain chaturmaasa held

Members of Sri Siddarthanagar Vardhman Sthanakvasi Jain Shravak Sangha held the completion ceremony of the Jain Chaturmaasa, here, recently.

Speaking on the occasion, MP Pratap Simha said Jainism is a legendary religion with its principles of non-violence, peace, and brotherhood. He lauded the social causes taken up by the Jain community people and said that there is a need for the society to follow the principles of Jainism.

Cooperation Minister Geetha Mahadeva Prasad said that she felt at peace in the presence of Jain shadhvis and recalled that she had sought the blessings of the saints, before becoming the minister in the Karnataka Cabinet.

MLA M K Somashekar said that he was pleased by the Jain community's social works and selfless dedication to the welfare of the society, without discrimination.

"I am inspired by the selfless service of Jains and I hence sanctioned a grant of Rs 10 lakh for the construction of the Jain prayer hall in Siddarthanagar," he said.

Sangha president Sampathlal Kothari, secretary Madanlal Porwad, treasurer Kanyalal Ganna, City Sthanak president B A Kailashchand Jain, Vidhyaranyapuram president Mohanlal Kothari, Indranagar president Tejmal Nangwat, Jain Milan Palace City Trust president Manmal Darla and secretary Mahaveerchand Bhansali, and Corporator Mahadevamma were present. Seers Adarshjyotiji and Chetanasriji gave discourses.
