The Commission has so for recorded the statements of 47 witnesses during the enquiry.

The state government had constituted the commission of enquiry in July 2016.

Commission sources said that only the statements of Madikeri SP P Rajendra Prasad and Police Inspector Medappa are pending.

The two officers had sought time to appear before the Commission and the next hearing has been posted to November 13.

The Commission has already received the report from the Forensic Science Laboratory on the video footage in which Ganapathy had alleged minister K J George and two IPS officers Pronab Mohanty and A M Prasad were responsible for his death.

The DVR of the CCTV footage at the Vinayaka Lodge in Madikeri, where Ganapathy was found hanging, was sent to a laboratory in Hyderabad and the report has been received.

Justice Keshavanarayana said that the enquiry report will be prepared after going through all the statements and the scientific evidence available.

He said that George and the two IPS officers have not yet been summoned for enquiry.

"The statements recorded so far and the contents of the FSL reports have not evoked the requirement of taking their statements. A final report will be submitted to the government based on the statements of witnesses and also on the FSL report,'' Justice Keshavanarayana said.

The Commission sources said that the CBI has not approached them seeking any material in connection with the case so far.
