JOIN USThe repeated absence of senior BJP leader K S Eshwarappa from party core committee meetings is said to have prompted party state president B S Yeddyurappa to take up the issue with election in-charge for Karnataka Prakash Javadekar.
Eshwarappa stayed away from the core committee and poll panel committee meeting in Bengaluru on Friday citing personnel reasons. This is the second time that Eshwarappa has absented himself from crucial meetings of the party.
Sources in the party said this is Eshwarappa’s style of sending out a message that all is not well in the state BJP. Javadekar, who attended the core committee meeting, is said to have assured Yeddyurappa that he will take up the issue with party national president Amit Shah.
Scale of Parivarthan Yatra in state to be massive, says BJP
Bengaluru: The BJP core committee meeting on Friday worked out the finer details of its Nava Karnataka Nirmana Parivarthan Ratha Yatra which the party plans to use as a launch pad for its election campaign for next year’s Assembly elections.
BJP state general Secretary C T Ravi told reporters that party national president Amit Shah will launch the south Karnataka leg of yatra from Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) on November 2. The north Karnataka leg of the yatra will be launched from Hubballi on November 17 by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
Both the yatras, which will expose the "misdeeds" of the Siddaramaiah government, will criss-cross all the 224 Assembly constituencies in the state and will culminate at Bengaluru on January 28 and will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As many as 75,000 BJP workers from across the state are expected from arrive on bikes at the inaugural venue of the yatra in Bengaluru.
Booth level micro management
In another decision, the party decided to go in for booth levelmicro management of constituencies to improve its prospects in the Assembly polls. The 224 constituencies have been divided into three categories — A, B and C — depending on the strength of the party in a particular segment.
Addressing a press conference in Bengaluru, BJP national General Secretary in charge of affairs in Karnataka P Muralidhar Rao reiterated that his party is ready for a public debate on corruption. “Congress and corruption are synonymous. There is not a single Congress leader at the national or the state level who is devoid of corruption charges,” he charged.
He said the Parivathan yatra will be organised at an unprecedented massive scale.
