JOIN USRain accompanied with thunder lashed Badami in Bagalkot district and surrounding areas for an hour on Monday.
Agastya Theertha received copious water following heavy rain. The area had turned into a picnic spot with tourists thronging the place.
Sandur in Ballari district received heavy rain for more than an hour. The rain, accompanied with thunder began at 4.30 pm and lasted till 6. Normal life was affected as roads in the town were waterlogged. Clogged drain overflowed, flooding roads.
Heavy rain lashed Hanur town in Chamarajnagar. Tattehall stream in the town overflowed and water entered houses in the low-lying areas. People living downstream have been warned to shift to safer places.
Due to heavy rains at PG Palya and Odeyarapalya from afternoon, the Lokanahalli lake has filled to the brim.
To prevent breach of the lake, the villagers have dug a canal connecting the stream.
