JOIN USA labourer was killed while two others sustained serious injuries in a quarry blast at Bebi Betta, Pandavapura taluk, Mandya district on Wednesday night.
The incident has been reported from the quarry belonging to Sudarshan. The deceased has been identified as Narayana, 35. The injured are Shambu, 40, and Lokesh, 16. While Shambu is being treated at KR Hospital in Mysuru, Lokesh has been admitted to Mission Hospital, Mysuru. Narayana’s body has been kept at the mortuary of the Mysore Medical College and Research Institute.
According to Pandavapura circle inspector Deepak, Narayan died of serious injuries while boulders were being blast using explosives. A case has been registered under IPC Section 302 against Sudarshan, he said.
Superintendent of Police G Radhika said the Pandavapura police have registered a case after inspecting the blast site.
