Bengaluru Royals routed Chennai Singhams 7-3 to move to the top of the table in the Premier Futsal League here on Friday.

Jonathan da Silva netted three goals for the Paul Scholes-led team who took control of the game early and kept Chennai at bay in the final two quarters to come through victorious.

Bengaluru have ten points from four games, the same as Delhi Dragons but the former are placed on top thanks to their superior goal difference of plus-12, compared to Delhi’s plus-five.

Bengaluru struck four goals in the first quarter, with Jonathan and Petterson Gomes Medeiros striking two times each.

Chennai pulled one back through Maico Nunes Monteiro but in the second quarter, Bengaluru widened their lead, with goals from Renzo Grasso and Raducio Iwan King powering them to a 6-1 advantage.

Jonathan then netted his third goals, making it 7-1 and despite a Chennai fight in the final quarter, the result was never in doubt.

Result: Bengaluru Royals: 7 (Jonathan da Silva 4th, 8th, 31st minutes, Petterson Gomes Medeiros 6th, 7th, Renzo Grasso 16th, Raducio King 20th) bt Chennai Singhams:  3 (Maico Nunes Monteiro 6th, Douglas Ferreira 32nd, Fredsan Marshall 40th).
