In an effort to give an international touch to the Dasara Film Festival, it has been named as ‘Mysuru Dasara Film Festival’ (MyDFF), said Additional Deputy Commissioner T Yogesh, who is also deputy Special Officer of the Dasara Film Festival Sub-Committee.

Addressing media ahead of the Dasara festivities here on Wednesday, Yogesh said the film festival will henceforth be referred to as MyDFF to connect with international audience. It is similar to Pune International Film Festival (PIFF) and Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF). This would enable the authorities to add more glitter to the festival, by inviting national and international artistes, he said.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the film festival at Kalamandira on September 21 at 10.30 am. Kannada film actors Dhruv Sarja and Rachitha Ram, and director P Seshadri will participate. Minister H C Mahadevappa and other dignitaries will also attend. The film ‘Ondu Motteya Kathe’ will be screened at Kalamandira on the first day, after inauguration, informed sub-committee president Rachaiah Yalandur.

The Inox multiplex at Mall of Mysore will screen Indian Panorama films, including feature and non-feature films. The people get an opportunity to watch national and international films during the festival.

It is mandatory for film lovers to register by paying Rs 300 to watch films at Inox.
