Autopsy report turns suicide into murder

A case of suicide has turned out to be a case of murder after the post-mortem report.

Rajeshwari (27) was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her workplace in BMT Layout, south Bengaluru, on September 10. Police had registered a case of unnatural death.

Based on the post-mortem report, police questioned Rajeshwari’s relative, a 16-year-old girl. Before long, the girl revealed it all.

In her confession statement, she told the police that she killed Rajeshwari as the latter had revealed her affair to her parents. Both Rajeshwari and the girl hail from Andhra Pradesh and were working as housekeepers with a couple.

Rajeshwari attended a call on the girl’s mobile phone and learnt about the affair. When she confronted the girl, the latter demanded why did she check her phone without permission.

Rajeshwari called up the girl’s parents and told them about the affair. The parents sternly asked the girl to stay away from the boy. She felt humiliated and decided to take revenge on Rajeshwari. In a fit of rage, she strangled Rajeshwari when she was fast asleep. The incident came to light the next day.

Police said the girl had been lodged at a rehabilitation home for women.
