Undertrial ISIS sympathisers attack jail staff in Hyderabad

Three high security undertrials arrested  last year for their suspected links with dreaded ISIS, attacked jail staff at the Hyderabad Central prison here on Sunday allegedly for not allowing them to take food material brought by visitors.

One of the jail staff members suffered injury in his eye. The prisons department which has booked a case against the three also said to have alerted the NIA.

According to a statement by the Prisons department director general V K Singh the  high security prisoners Mohammed Ibrahim Yazdani (UT No. 519), Mohammed Iliyas Yazdani (UT No. 521) and Mohammed Athaullah Rahman (UT No. 524) resorted to the attack on the jail staff during a mulakath (interview) break. They were granted permission to meet visitors at 12 noon. The interview was over at 12.30 and they were waiting at the Wicket Gate of Search Gate (second main gate) for procuring their belongings including bread, fruit and dry fruits brought by the visitors.

Around 12.30 pm, duty warder Bharat Kumar opened the Wicket Gate (2) to take the other prisoners to send to out-courts. “The same time, the three high security under trials pushed the duty warder and entered into the main gate by force and shouted filthy words in loud voice”, the note said.
