Though Bangalore Gorkha Boys beat Konkan FC 4-1 on Sunday, it was not enough as Bangalore Muslims qualified for the knock-out stage of the BDFA ‘C’ division football league on Sunday.

The Gorkha side needed to beat Konkan by nine goals or more to leapfrog Muslims to top  Zone ‘K’ but a 4-1 verdict in their last game meant the Gorkha side finished second behind Muslims.

Gorkha Boys went behind in the 20th minute as Noel Robinson netted but struck back in the 33rd minute through Akash.

Akash then bagged his second in the 48th, while Jackson (50+2) and Pawal (50+3) also added to the tally.

Results: Bangalore Gorkha Boys: 4 (Akash 33rd, 48th, Jackson 50+2 pen, Pawal 50+3) bt Konkan FC: 1 (Noel Robinson 20th).
