Rape convict self-styled god-man Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim, rape accused Asaram Bapu and Radhey Maa was among those, whose names found mention in the list of 'fake' babas, which was released by a prominent Hindu seers' body on Sunday.

All India Akhara Parishad (AIAP), an apex body of the Hindu saints and ascetics in the country, released a list of 14 fake babas in the country and asked the government to take stern action against them.

Besides the three, the list also included the names of Ram Pal, Nirmal Baba, Sachhidanand Giri alias Sachin Dutta, Swami Aseemananda and Narayan Sai.

Releasing the list in Allahabad after a meeting of the representatives of all the 13 'akharas', the AIAP president Mahant Narendra Giri said that all these babas must be boycotted by the people.

''The list will be sent to the chief ministers of the concerned states to enable them to act against them,'' Narendra Giri told reporters.

He said that fake babas had ''amassed huge wealth and lived lavishly'' and had brought a bad name to the Hindu religion.

''We will make sure that such babas are not able to take part in the Kumbh also...the state governments must also ensure that such babas are not accorded any facilities at the Kumbh and other religious gatherings,'' he added.

He warned these babas against prefixing 'Mahatma' before their names. The Mahant sought the support of the people to expose fake babas.

He also said that the AIAP would keep an eye on the conduct and life style of the saints and babas. ''Real saints live a simple life,'' he remarked.

Narendra Giri had received a threat from some unidentified person after he convened a meeting of the AIAP to identify the fake babas in the country and expose them.
