Two persons, including a technician, were injured when a breaker exploded at the sixth unit of Raichur Thermal Power Plant (RTPS).
The incident, which occurred on September 3, has come to light lately. Technician Dattu Singh and assistant technician Narasappa Nayaka were given treatment at the RTPS Hospital and have been taken to Hyderabad for further treatment. The incident is said to have occurred when some electrical repair work was on. Singh and Nayaka had not wore masks or safety cover while doing the work, it is learnt. Meanwhile, the officials said the sixth unit and the second unit of RTPS will stop power generation for 20 and 120 days for annual maintenance.
