JOIN USThe next time you want to catch a movie, don’t let parking worries stop you. You can now reserve a slot with the help of a mobile app and drive right in.
Called ParkZebra, the app was launched on Thursday, and can be downloaded on Android and Apple devices.
Developed by Bengaluru-based ParkZebra Technologies, it searches for slots at malls, office complexes and business parks, and allows you to book one and pay in advance.
Uday Maitra, founder, ParkZebra Technologies, said, “By simplifying the process of parking into three steps of searching, reserving and paying, we aim to provide an easy and convenient solution.”
The company has now partnered with Brigade Towers, UB city, 1MG Road, Lido, Gopalan Mall, St John’s Hospital, Electronics City. Properties coming up include malls such as Vega, Forum Koramangala, Forum Whitefield and Mantri Square Malleswaram, and hospitals such as Columbia Asia.
The app helps drivers save time and fuel by providing information about slots available, he said.
ParkZebra has about 10,000 slots on offer in Bengaluru. It plans to take its services to other metros, starting with Delhi. In about a year, it will cover six metros.
The user can open the app to find a parking slot nearby or search for one at the intended destination.
After reserving a slot, the user can drive straight into the slot. In case the space is not free, a ParkZebra valet will park the car and place the key in a predetermined location for the user to pick up.
