Quit Chinese goods rally on Oct 29

Last Updated 07 September 2017, 19:19 IST

Though peace has returned to the Doklam plateau, the RSS front-organisation, Swadeshi Jagaran Manch (SJM), will go ahead with its October 29 rally here to wind up its boycott Chinese products campaign.

The SJM was of the view that the neighbouring country needs to be taught a lesson for disturbing India on global platforms.

The SJM took credit over encouraging the central government for imposing anti-dumping duties on a number of Chinese goods, including 18% on steel import from China.

Despite earning a trade profit of Rs 4 lakh crore per annum from India, China is responding to New Delhi’s “principle of Panchsheel by adopting the policy of ‘panchshool,’ which is taking on India by crippling our economic, environment, employment and humanity fabric,” SJM’s all-India organiser Kashmiri Lal said.

The SJM launched the Rashtriya-Swadeshi-Suraksha Abhiyan from January 12 to “make people aware of China’s nefarious design”.

Though this campaign, Lal claimed over one crore people gave their undertaking in writings to boycott Chinese goods.

“If all other Chinese trades are included, China’s total trade with India will come to Rs 6.5 lakh crore and if we calculate the net profit at the rate of 12%, China is earning at least Rs 72,000 crore net profit from India. Still, China is disturbing India on all global platforms —from blocking India’s entry into NSG to Doklam to Azhar Masood and other border issues,” Lal said.
