'Instal LED screens to display Dasara programmes'

Director for Tourism department N Manjula has suggested to Mysuru Dasara Special Officer and Deputy Commissioner D Randeep to take measures to instal LED screens to display the programmes for Vijayadashami.

At a meeting organised in the DC’s office here on Wednesday, Manjula said that the Tourism department has taken up several initiatives to popularise Mysuru Dasara-2017 and more publicity will be given in the days to come. She also suggested to the DC to instal LED screens at various places in the city for the convenience of tourists who can watch Dasara programmes on the day of Vijayadashami.

Tourism department Principal Secretary Gaurav Gupta obtained details about the single ticket system for various tourist spots in and around Mysuru. The officials discussed about the pros and cons of organising an ‘Open Street Festival’ on the occasion of ‘World Tourism Day’ on September 27.

Randeep gave details about some of the programmes including ‘Palace on Wheels’, and ‘3D projection on Town Hall’. The DC said that this time, a visit to two museums has been included in the Palace on Wheels programme and the package is available for Rs 999. The officials also discussed about the gold card scheme and other related matters.

Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation and Jungle Lodges and Resorts Managing Director Vijay Sharma and Tourism Department Deputy Director HP Janardhan were present at the meeting.
