Three rowdies held for assault on sub-inspector

The police have arrested three rowdies on the charge of assaulting a police sub-inspector in DJ Halli.

The arrested have been identified as Nadeem and his two associates, Wasim and Imran. Nadeem is involved in cases of murders, attempts to murder, robbery and dacoity.

Nadeem triggered drama in front of a private news channel office in Richmond Town by attempting to slit his throat during the wee hours of Monday . He claimed that the police were behind him and wanted to kill him in a fake encounter.

The police rushed to the spot on being informed and detained Nadeem. Wasim and Imran were moving in a MUV when a CCB team chased them in Chickkajala. Police had to open fire when the duo attacked with knife and dagger.

Nadeem and his two associates Waseem and Imran, assaulted Nayaz Ahmad, the sub-inspector attached to DJ Halli on the night of August 24.

He had plotted an attack on his rival gang leader Umar and was waiting for him on Shampura Main Road.
