The Parappana Agrahara police arrested two men who formed their own gang to compete with a rival gang in South East Bengaluru. The arrested are Srinivas alias Seena (22) a native of Anekal and a resident of Konankunte, Madhu alias Meke (21) native of Doddanagamangala and resident of Electronics City. The police have seized property worth Rs 30 lakh from them.

According to the police, Srinivas, a city-4 resident of Weaver’s Colony was an accomplice of a history sheeter Paramesh from Kembathalli.

Srinivas then parted ways with Paramesh and wanted to form a gang of his own. He then joined hands with another rowdy Madhu and took to crime stealing two-wheelers and four-wheelers. The two used stolen vehicles for committing robberies and thefts after changing their registration numbers.

History-sheeter

Madhu was also a history sheeter at HSR Layout police station. The duo targeted cab drivers by booking cabs using stolen mobiles, directing them to go to secluded destinations and then robbing them of their valuables. They even committed crimes in neighbouring states, the police said. With the stolen money, they used to splurge on drinks, food and on partying to nurture their gang members, the police said.

Cases against them have been registered at HSR Layout, Byatrayanapura, Electronics City, Bannerghatta and Parappana Agrahara police stations.

Informers from the rival gang tipped off the police who caught Srinivas and Madhu while they were about to commit a robbery, the police said.

The police seized a steel dagger, a knife, two hockey sticks and a bike used for the crime. They also seized 592 gm of gold and two Maruti Ritz cars from the duo.
