There is an exciting fresh feel about the Karbonn Smartphones Karnataka Premier League, powered by Cycle Pure Agarbathies, this year. In this new reset version of the KPL I can guarantee you one thing for sure.

A whole new level of intensity and competitiveness, judging by how teams teams have gone about preparing for the tournament. No longer are they sticking to the elementary, tried and tested routine of training, resting and training again.

Instead, innovation is now the name of the game.

We have all been hearing about some of the finest sport persons in the world taking to yoga to further their performances.

Experienced Bulls

Having experienced its benefits, Bijapur Bulls captain Bharat Chipli, a true veteran of the KPL has started taking his team for regular yoga sessions to increase their concentration and focus. How do you top that? By taking your team to an overseas location for a bonding and training camp.

Belagavi Panthers decided to go international in their preparation – they are currently in Dubai, training at the ICC Academy, under the watchful eyes of none other than Jacob Oram and Marvan Atapattu, the former Sri Lanka captain and coach/mentor of Team Belagavi.

There is further talk of a few teams undergoing team-building and bonding sessions at resorts, and others planning rallies in their home cities to inspire support from the locals.

Highly competitive

No stone is being left unturned, every team is vying for that extra edge. It all contributes to the feeling that the players will continue to push the standards and for all of us who will be watching the action of us bound to be more enthralling and riveting.

It’s not just the team’s but even the KSCA and other supporting organisers have been pushing standards in terms of event management, television and sponsorship support. The title and powered by sponsors have extended their investment and support both on and off the field.

Does that mean this will be the most exciting KPL season yet? There is only one way to find out. Make sure you catch the action from September 1 onwards.
