Four youths killed in accident near Hiriyur

 As many as four youths were killed on the spot when the autorickshaw they were travelling by collided head-on with a truck near Harthikote in the taluk Wednesday midnight.

The deceased are Mutturaj (22), Sharan Raj (22), Chidanand (20) and Manu (20), all residents of Nanjaiahanakottige in the taluk. The incident took place when the youths were heading towards Challakere in the district from Hiriyur. The lorry was on its way to Mysuru from Siraguppa, said the Haimangala police, who have registered a case.

Superintendent of Police Srinath Mahadev Joshi, Deputy Superintendent of Police Venkatappa Nayaka and Inspector Gururaj visited the spot.
